I LOVE FIREWORKS!

Last Saturday I was asked to shoot the St. Martin's Episcopal Church Festival of Lights fireworks show the following day. It was a scramble, but I was up for the challenge. I had shot a fireworks show once or twice before so I was nervous and wanted to get it right. I think I got pretty close. What do you think?

Rachel ~ A Senior

This is Rachel. Rachel is a senior. Scratch that, she's a wacky senior. Hang on, scratch that again, she's a perfect senior who's figured out what school she wants to go to and what she wants to major in. She is way more advanced than when I was her age. Go Rachel! I work with Rachel's mom at my day job and was so excited when she asked me to take Rachel's senior portraits. We had so much fun that October afternoon playing in the field and on the train tracks. We made sure these pictures captured who she really is and I don't think there is any doubt.

Congrats on being a Senior Rachel! Enjoy it!

I'm back!

Sorry for the long hiatus, but I've been a little busy. My daughter, Ali, was born on September 1st at 5:42 pm. She weighed 7 lbs and 1 oz and was 19.5 inches long. She's three months old now and amazes me every day. I can't remember what my life was like before her.

So with out further ado, Internet world meet Ali, Ali meet Internet world.

Ali only 2 weeks old.

This one is just too cute, I have to share.

Baby Charlotte - A New Life

Let me introduce you to Baby Charlotte. Charlotte was so excited to meet her parents that she came 3 weeks early. Her parents could not be more ecstatic about their new daughter. She is an absolutely precious child full of life and love. I was fortunate enough to visit Charlotte and her parents back in October and be the first to take her pictures. She did so well during the shoot that she immediately passed out once we were done.

Congratulations, she's just perfect!

Elizabeth & Wakeford ~ A Teary Wedding continued

I started blogging about these two a little while ago and it just seemed to take me a while to figure out how I wanted to tell their story. I was a second shooter at this wedding with Temple Webber again. I was in charge of following the bride. We met at her parents home in West University and then drove over to the church that was down the street. Turns out that Wakeford's father was the minister at this church and he was going to marry them. I thought how sweet, but sad that he didn't get to sit and watch the process, but as soon as the ceremony started, I see why they asked him. His father said the sweetest things about his son and soon to be daughter-in-law. I couldn't help it but loose it up in the balcony. I'm surprised I got some shots in focus! Something extra fun for this Friday. I am at work and its pretty slow. I walked past our copy room where we have our mail boxes and I see a rather large package in my box. I get excited and walk over to grab it, I never get anything fun at work. The return address is from Solvang, CA. I thought, "who's sending me something from Solvang?" I've been there before when I lived in CA with a group of girlfriends, but I don't know any one there. We went Christmas shopping because IT IS Christmas town, but I digress. I go back to my desk and rip is open and low and behold, its the Jose Villa Wedding book I won from Hot Pink Brides. I am so excited that I have to share the whole experience with you.

Thank you Jose and Hot Pink Brides for choosing me to win this beautiful book. I will cherish it always.

Channing & Paul ~ A Perfect Small Wedding

Meet Channing and Paul. I met them that night since I was the second shooter for Temple Webber. I was able to spend alot of time with the bride and her family before the wedding. We were held up in the small room behind the chapel and we could only whisper. That's how small the church is. We quietly had some girl time and got Channing into her beautiful gown. Absolutely stunning doesn't even come close to how she looked. The ceremony was short and sweet and then we were whisked off to the Coronado Club downtown where guests were greeted by two trumpet player. The sound was amazing bouncing off all of the tall buildings. Then inside for an intimate seated dinner.

Caroline & Michael ~ A Sweet Wedding

Here is a quick post of Amy and John's wedding I shot as the second shooter earlier this year for Temple Webber. I was only there for a short time, I left right after the cake cutting. Abby & Greg ~ Another Neuhaus Wedding

The Neuhaus' had another daughter get married. Little sister Abby was married earlier this year to Greg following in the foot steps of her big sister Evan. These weddings were by no means similar though, I do not want to confuse you. The whole memorable day was held at the Bayou Club in Houston. The back yard area over the pool (always scares me) was transformed into an elegant evening ceremony where they tied the knot. During cocktail hour inside the home, it was converted into a beautiful reception site ready to let the party begin and boy did they party. The love these two share while looking into each others eyes the whole evening through was spell bounding. Congrats to the happy couple!

Drew ~ Sweetness

Meet Drew. Isn't she adorable? This is the second baby for Alissa and Jeremiah. Drew has an older brother Tad, who was less than excited about me being there that day, but we did manage to get one good family shot at the end of the day. I have known Alissa since I moved back to Texas almost a year and a half ago. She was the Special Events Coordinator at Neuhaus Education Center when I came along. I was basically her assistant. Since then, she left Neuhaus and I took her place. We have stayed in touch since then and I am so proud to call her my friend. She is a stay at home mom working on two projects besides her family: Bubble Gum and Lemon Drops and Far Superior Events.

Now enjoy these precious moments of Drew.

Travis ~ A True Talent

One of my best friends for High school, Travis Vance, came in town last week and played a show. He did sort of a mini tour through Texas so he could see some friends and family while playing with his friends, Parachute Musical. He currently lives in Nashville, TN and writes and plays his own music. I've known Travis since middle school and always knew that he could play bass and was very talented, but when I saw him last week, whoa. This guy is amazing! He needs to be big time and you all need to hear him play. I'll see if I can link to some of him music later. For now, enjoy these shots I got of him.

I ran into this lovely family at the Cornelius' wedding down in Mexico. Kathryn, the mother of these two adorable cuties, and I went to school with each other since middle school. Weird how you can reconnect in another country. Well, we started talking alot in Mexico and she wanted to some photographs of her children. Since she lives outside of Fort Worth, I said I could help her accomplish this mission next time I am in town. That turned out to be two weeks later and look at these darlings. They are all boys I must say. I was only able to get two shots of them in the same frame. But I loved going out to see Kathryn's home on the ranch and spend the afternoon with the boys. Thank you Carter's! You have a beautiful family!

I'm Still Here ~ Bigger and Better

Hi Everyone! Sorry I have been so m.i.a. this year. The day job has been a little crazy with the largest event of the year that was held last week and...well you can see the other small reason. OK well rather large reason! Don't worry, this will not turn into my baby's blog, it is still all mine, but I want everyone to know what I am up to as well. I'll post updates as I travel along this new journey.

Hope you had an exciting and joyous holiday season this year. 2011 has now begun and I'm sure we are on onto bigger and brighter things in our lives. I took a step back to look over this past year and see what I have accomplished.

I bought my first home
Started my first real website
Booked alot of weddings and portraits
Had two destination weddings
Met some amazing new friends and professionals along the way.
